Throughout my workday, I read articles discovering new methods for improvement. I recently read an article on enhancing my skills as a facilitator. Particularly using it in the context of leading meetings and workshops.

In the middle of the article, one pivotal mindset was highlighted. “You need to be the guide, not the hero.”
This represents a shift in perspective, moving away from being the center of attention and the hero. Instead, it encourages you to be a guide who helps others achieve their best.

Upon reading this, I immediately recognized its relevance in the presented context and also in our position as missionaries.

Our goal as individuals on Jesus’ Mission is to be the guide. To share the Gospel with anyone willing to hear. Occasionally, this takes the form of personal conversations. Other times involved sharing Jesus’ love from a stage in front of thousands. In every instance, we aim to convey the love of Christ.

Often, when we share the good news of Christ, the person listening does not make an immediate decision to accept it. It can take time for the truth to sink in.
Our role in this process is not to push someone into faith, whether they choose to accept it immediately or not. Instead, we are here to guide them. We share the good news and explain how to enter a relationship with Christ.

God is the true hero of this journey. He is working in the background, touching hearts and bringing about transformation. Ultimately, it is He who deserves all the glory!

We are the guide. God is the hero!
