I’m going to Ukraine.
A couple weeks from now, Craig Finley and I will be meeting up with a small team of Pastors and business leaders to head into the war torn country of Ukraine. We will be spending most of our time there with local church leaders who are caring for refugees, preaching the Gospel, and living out their faith in the midst of uncertainty.
Our primary effort will be the encouragement of the church and its leaders, but as we know from experience, all those plans will likely change as we hit the ground.
The war continues to rage on, and it is estimated that there are still more than five million IDPs (Internally displaced people) throughout Ukraine. Many of these people are living in refugee centers, which are often just church buildings that have been renovated to accommodate the displaced.
Our small team will be bringing you updates and videos from the ground, but for the most part we will be focused on the Pastors and volunteers serving their own communities. We will be investing our time and resources to push them forward as they continue their relief efforts. We never know exactly how that will look on a trip like this. It might be as simple as an encouraging meal on some evenings, while the next it might mean helping to resource them with a generator or other supplies.
Local leaders have been sharing the stories of hundreds of people coming to know Jesus. We can’t wait to bring you back these reports and give you ways to support the work of the ministry in Ukraine.
I’m asking you to consider starting a new gift to Nations Outreach today. Your gifts will be used to care for people as we travel throughout the region. On this trip we will be sending out updates and filming stories to share of how God is at work in the chaos of war.
Thank you.
